Typically, clip shows are loathed among audiences as a pointless waste of time, or sometimes viewed as essential for series in the age of regular broadcasts. That wasn't always the situation, and Avatar: The Last Airbender showed it with "The Ember Island Players," a cherished installment in its last season that is now getting an exclusive Magic: The Gathering Secret Lair release.
Highlights about the special release
The full Secret Lair superdrop for the soon-to-release Avatar: The Last Airbender edition was revealed earlier this month. This includes five distinct sets, and even though a set named "My Cabbages!" is clearly funny homage to the series' best background character, the additional releases appear slightly less imaginative, aside from one remarkable entry: "The Ember Island Players."
Based on installment 17 in the final season of Avatar: The Last Airbender, this Secret Lair includes the following cards:

Why this episode stands out
Fans of the show fondly remember this episode, which functioned as a summary of the protagonist Aang and his companions' journey prior to the final episode. Different from standard summary installments, or "clip shows," "The Ember Island Players" did not stem due to production constraints or scheduling problems. The producers truly wanted to offer viewers an opportunity to revisit the series' story, but they decided to execute it with flair.
Throughout the segment, the heroes view a play based on their adventures on a stage on Ember Island, called The Boy in the Iceberg. The whole thing is factually incorrect, melodramatic, and completely amusing. It succeeds as it plays with the characters' perception of themselves, setting them against compared to how society (and particularly the antagonist nation) views them. It possesses an ideal level of self-awareness, and it ends up possibly the best adaptation of Avatar available to date.
Worth and cost
Regarding worth, this is a great Secret Lair because of one major element: Braid of Fire. This particular card sells between $20 and $40 on various platforms currently, and at $29.99 you can acquire the full set, or for $39.99 for the foil version.
Magic's Avatar: The Last Airbender set is available during early access events starting November 14 and releases worldwide come November 21.
